During week 10 and 11 I took more photos for my double page spread. I then started and completed my double page spread within this time frame and I wrote my article.

Original Copy of Article:

Nasrine, only 16, has made her unique mark in the music
industry. She has brought soul music
back to life by adding her own slight R&B twist to it. This amazing fuse has proved to be very
popular, not just within the UK, but worldwide. Her single ‘Lovin’ You’ has been Number 1 in
25 countries- including the UK and US.
We were lucky enough to be able to secure her first ever magazine
interview. This British born superstar hasn’t even got started yet but we already
see a legend forming.
Tell us a bit about
yourself Nasrine, anything!
Is it just me or whenever someone asks you that question,
you completely forget everything about yourself and you’re stuck thinking ‘who
am I?’ *laughs*
Okay let’s start with the basic info. My name is Nasrine
and I’m 16 years old. I sing, play the piano, guitar and write songs. I admit,
I love a classic rom-com but I’m a girl who loves a bit of hard-core action,
gets the blood pumping! I am probably the weirdest person you’ll meet because I
just laugh at everything and anything- which sometimes gets me into trouble!
I like to always stay happy and positive. I am not
judging person and I am determined and ambitious and I love making people happy.
Aww that’s lovely!
Now tell me Nasrine, what was your life like before all the fame?
My life was definitely a lot less hectic! I liked to take
it easy. I was attending college and went out with friends from time to time
but that was it really. Now I’m almost constantly in the studio, having
meetings, performing at concerts. There’s a lot going on but I couldn’t be more
grateful for it all.
We’d love to know
your story of how this all happened.
As cheesy as this sounds, I loved performing in school
concerts and I loved the appreciation I got out of it. They responded so
genuinely and really well towards the music that I wrote which helped me boost
my confidence. My best friend and many others kept telling me to make a YouTube
account and due to my confidence issues I kept delaying it but one day I
gathered up the courage and finally made one. At first the views were slow but
suddenly they started to increase quicker and quicker! Before I knew it, I had
hundreds of thousands of views! I got noticed by the record company Island
Records, THE record company Mariah Carey- my biggest inspiration is signed to-
and got offered a contract! All my work was very low key but I already had an
amazing fan base ready for my single. I dropped a few fun teasers on my YouTube
account which was really exciting and finally my single was released. Nothing
could have prepared me with what happened. It took the Number 1 spot within ten
minutes. TEN minutes. Everything since then has changed my life.
Wow! What do you
think is the best thing that has come out of the attention and fame?
I still find it so weird to think of myself as “famous” and
having “fans”. My fans are like my friends though and I know everyone says this
but I would not be where I am without them. Now back to the question! The
attention has allowed me to be exposed to more people and that’s a great thing
because I’m able to get my music heard by more people. I hope that I can be an
inspiration to at least a few of those people. I constantly get tweets with my
fans saying that I have inspired them and helped them and made them feel happy
and that means everything to me. Nothing can top that off.
That’s so beautiful.
What do you think influenced you to sing and sing in the specific genre that
you sing in now?
Well, since I remember, I always loved singing. I was so
young and I’d sing along to every single theme song that appeared on TV! I was
just in love with music and I still am. I knew from the start that this was
what I wanted to do, what I was born to do, where I belonged- the world of
music. I love listening to old school soul music because it just makes me feel
so good and chilled out. The meaning behind the songs are so strong and
sometimes inspirational. I also love R&B because of the cool beats and bass
you can hear in most songs in that genre and the melodies are so beautiful! So
I guess my love for both genres and the different things they had to offer
influenced my genre choice!
Any last words or
advice you have to give to the people that listen to your music?
Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to my music
and to everyone who has got me here. My family for constantly supporting me in
every choice that I’ve made- even if they might have not agreed on it. My fans
count as my friends, so to my friends, always know your worth. You are amazing
and capable of anything you set your mind to. Never deprive yourself from
dreaming and don’t ever give up on those dreams no-matter how hard it gets.
